EGYPTIAN SAHARA GROUP & LIBYAN SAHARA STARS

LIBYA

Libya has a lot to offer travelers looking for ancient sites and unique off-the beaten path destinations. But it must be taken into account that Libya was a closed country, UN sanctions kept tourists from visiting Libya for more than a decade. Just now Libya is slowly opening its doors to the outside world. Tourism in Libya is new and still involves a greater degree of adventure in many ways. Sometimes unexpected changes in Libyan law take place and some obstacles remain. But the Libya’s gates have been opened….

SAFETY

Libya is not dangerous country as people usually imagine. The Libyan Government’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism was rescinded on the 30th of June 2006.

Libya is the only country in North Africa free of terrorists. Muslim fundamentals have no power there and no single terror-incident has been recorded in Libya.

Generally speaking the level of safety in Libya is much better than most countries and it is an extremely safe country in which to travel. Hostility of any kind towards foreigners doesn’t exist and theft is extremely rare. Unlike elsewhere in North Africa. overcharging of foreigner visitors is also very uncomm

PASSPORT & VISA

Libyan Law no more requires all visitors to have an Arabic transcript of their passport ’ s details page printed in their passports!

Visitors should contact the Libyan Embassy to enquire about approved translation service providers. The translation must be provided at entry point. Many tourists were refused entry to Libya despite having Libyan visa, because their passports did not carry an Arabic translation.

Passport Validity: the passport must be valid for at least six months before you leave Libya, We are continuously updating information regarding Libyan visas, but it is not easy to keep up with the ever changing visa laws and regulations which become effective immediately without any prior notice.

We are not taking responsibility for visa or entry rejection at the entry point due to incorrect passport copies or inaccurate translations or due to any unforeseeable governmental circumstances.

Please note: Travelers with passports bearing Israeli stamps are not allowed to enter Libya
